Ensuring the seniors in the community have a place to experience an active life, the comfort of home, and the safety of support is what Heritage Community and Dunaway Manor are working to provide.

Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community are a 501c3 non-profit organization set up in 1962 by Dr. W. F. & Mada Dunaway and other concerned citizens of Texas County. Being a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue operating and to have the funds to update our community and get the latest equipment. All donations to Dunaway/Heritage are tax deductible, and are always greatly appreciated.

For those in the community looking for ways to support the neighbors, there are a few opportunities available. In addition to volunteering at the community, monetary donations are accepted. An added opportunity has been offered through Amazon Smile. Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community have been approved as a charity. Those who use Amazon to purchase items, can do their shopping on Amazon Smile and have a portion of their purchase benefit Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community.

“If you use Amazon to buy things, instead of going to the regular Amazon, go to Amazon Smile and chose Dr. W. F. & Mada Dunaway Manor as your charity of choice. Amazon gives us .05% of your purchase every time you shop. You still get the same prices, can use your Amazon Prime account, and everything is the same at Amazon Smile as it is on the regular Amazon site, except the charity you choose gets a check quarterly of .05% of every purchase made,” Stiles said.

“Finally, a huge thank you to the citizens of Guymon, Texas County and the Oklahoma Panhandle for their support since 1962 of Dunaway Manor and Heritage Community. The only way we are able to serve the seniors of the Oklahoma Panhandle, Texas Panhandle and Southwest Kansas is the support of our local community,” Stiles said. “We want to thank all of the groups that have come over the years and provided church, activities, crafts, entertainment and visited our neighbors that live here.”

According to Stiles, the goal of the facility and organization is to provide the neighbors that live there with the best

possible life, and to give them as many opportunities to thrive and grow as possible.

“We have a great team that works here with many dedicated team members that have been here serving our neighbors for many years,” he said.
