Downtown Guymon businesses highlighted during recent Shop and Dine event, more to come
This past weekend four businesses opened up their door, to offer an opportunity to experience the offerings of Downtown Guymon. Community members turned out to show support during this month's Shop and Dine.
During the Shop and Dine event, participants were able to visit the four locations and have their card punched for an entry for an opportunity to take home a swagbag and a gift card. In addition to the local support for Downtown businesses, this month had a special focus on teacher appreciation. Some of the participating shops offered specials for teachers in the community.
One of the businesses participating was Sugar Shop Guymon. Co-owned by Helen and
Rachel, Sugar Shop Guymon, seemed to be a hit from the beginning of the event. The duo originally started their business as part of the Guymon Farmer's Market about a month and a half ago. The support since then has increased to allow for them to open a shop in Downtown Guymon.
“... without the support of our community, our business wouldn't be where it is now,” the co-owners said.
One participant, Zoey Smith, said she loved participating in supporting the community. Smith mentioned she liked looking in the stores at what they had to offer, but loved how they all provided something to eat and drink for everyone.
“The best part about Shop and Dine was being able to support the community while also doing a little Christmas shopping,” Zoey Smith said.
