Susie Boothby Clay, age 69, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangemen­ts are made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas.

Susie was born in Guymon, Okla., on September 7, 1952. She grew up and graduated high school in Texhoma, Okla. She lived majority of her life in Amarillo, Texas, and lived her later years in Cedar Hill, Texas, where she retired from her career in sales.

Susie will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, aunt, and friend. She was funny, compassion­ate, and spontaneou­s. She loved her family and friends with everything. Sue enjoyed good conversati­on and never met a stranger. She was passionate about politics and her love for animals. She had the heart of a hippy and never missed an opportunit­y to help someone in need.

Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Jewell (Julie) Holt Jones; and her brother, Laddie Boothby.

She is survived by her father, D.C. Boothby and wife, Delta; stepdad, Red Garrett Jones; partner of 22 years, David Cann; daughter, Sara Clay and husband, DJ DeBusman; granddaugh­ters, Parker and Morgan DeBusman; sister, Jane Boothby Trammell and husband, Clif; sister-in-law, Myra Boothby; nieces, Heather Boothby and Bethany Hager; nephews, Heath Boothby, Jeremy Boothby, Mitch Trammell, Brent Trammell, and Adam Boothby; step-siblings, Ricky Harkins, Vicky Porter, Randy Harkins, Rod Harkins and Kay Hilderbran­d.
