Guymon City Coucil holds meeting

- By ALLISON JOHNSON

The Guymon City Council convened Tuesday evening, January 11, 2022. This meeting was the first city council meeting in 2022.

During this meeting, the council discussed items that have been done annually i.e.; agenda item numbers 4, 5, and 6.

Item number 7, Discussion and Possible Action to Approve Resolution No 22-03 a Resolution Authorizing a Property Exchange Agreement and Occupancy Agreement Between Guymon Independent School District No 8 and the City of Guymon, was approved. This agenda item is the transfer of the property back around the football parking lot and practice field in exchange of Sayler Elementary.

Items number 8 and 9 go along together and we both approved. Item number 8 was the Discussion and Possible Action to Approve Occupancy Agreement Between the City of Guymon and the Guymon Public School for the Guymon Police Headquarters Building and Parking Lot and Other Lands. This item allows the city to continue to occupy the current police headquarters until the new facility can be constructed. Item number 9 was the Discussion and Possible Action to Approve Property Exchange Agreement Between the City of Guymon Public School for the Police Headquarters.

Item number 10, Discussion and Possible Action to Authorize the Purchase of 20 Kenwood VHF Handheld Radios, 20 Kenwood Speaker Mics, and Leather Carrying Cases for the Police Department, was approved.

Item number 11, Discussion and Possible Action to Authorize the City of Guymon to Mow and Cut and Clean Abated Properties During the Calendar Year 2022, was approved. This item had some questions coming from Mr. Petty, who was wanting clarification and an explanation of what this agenda item was really saying. This item asked the city of Guymon to take care of the weeds and trash from abated properties because there was no response from other contractors.
