Mitchel Hugh Walker obituaries

Mitchel Hugh Walker passed away on Jan. 5, 2022, in Alexandria, VA, at the age of 69, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on Feb. 27, 1952, to the late Travis Walker and the late Adriene Malone.

Mitch lived life to the fullest, and music was a huge part of his life, starting at a young age. He was an avid musician and guitar player and could play many instruments. He was a welder in his early adult life until a work accident sent him back to school, where he earned a degree in Biology and then went on to study Histology at the Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. He also loved the thrill of riding motorcycles; having owned several, including his ice cream sidecar, “The Magic Goblin.”

Mitch met his life companion, Lo-Retta Wilson, and her two children, daughter Erika and son Joshua, in March 1988. Together, they raised their family in Guymon, OK. A recent move to Alexandria, VA, brought them closer to their children and their families.

He is preceded in death by his father Travis Walker, mother Adriene Malone, stepfather Max Malone, and sister Shannon Campbell.

Mitch is survived by his companion of 34 years, Lo-Retta; two children, Erika Wilson of Alexandria, VA, and son Joshua Wilson, wife Shannon, and their boys Landen and Logan of Berlin, MD; stepmother Barbara Walker of Hooker; three sisters, Clista Fish of Hooker, Paula Brooks and husband Trent of Hooker, and Sharron Gorman of Hooker; two brothers, Mike Walker of Hooker and Neal Williams and wife Sonja of Alva; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A small family memorial will be held in Alexandria, VA. There will also be a memorial held in Guymon, OK, at a later date.
