Raevella “Rae” (Larson) Hill Pyle, 92, a longtime Guymon resident passed away June 25, 2022 in Amarillo, Texas.

The daughter of Leonard and Annie (McCarley) Larson, Raevella was born July 6, 1929 in Brownfield, Texas. She was raised in Walters, where she attended school and graduated in 1947. She then went to Amarillo for one year before moving to Guymon.

Rae and James Lenard Hill were united in marriage on May 7, 1949 in Clayton, N.M. They raised their five children in Guymon and were members of the Lutheran Church. Lenard preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1983.

Rae and Joe Pyle were united in marriage on April 9, 1994 in Covington. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2016.

Rae was a devoted homemaker as well as ran the local U-Haul business for 50 years. She was an active member of the No Man’s Land Senior Citizen’s Center.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, L.E. Larson, Jr. and Arley Dean and Barbara Larson; one sister, Betty and Leon Glasgow; and son-in-law, Tony Shaddy.

Survivors include her five children: Karen Berkenbile and husband, Dean, of Hunter, Sandra Mulder and husband, Don of Amarillo, Texas, James L. Hill, Jr. of Guymon, Mary Ann Shaddy of Guymon and Marcia Brown of Dodge City, Kan.; her honorary son, Michael Ray “Mike” Ritter of Guymon; eight grandchild­ren: Laura (Mike) Mittasch, Dusty (Rhonda) Berkenbile, Kelsey Berkenbile, Haley (David) Mendez, Karlie Blue (J.R. Nunnery), Devery Shaddy (Derek Pistorius), JaCobi Brown (Derek Robbins) and Jarret (Chelbee) Brown; 23 great-grandchild­ren; brother-inlaw and sisters-in-law, Richard and Linda Hill of Guymon and Ruth Pierce of Bartlesvil­le; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

The family will greet friends at the BunchRober­ts Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Evangelica­l Lutheran Church in Guymon. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.

Memorials in Rae’s name are suggested to be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Video/ Sound Equipment Fund and will be accepted at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
