Kathryn Joyce Bryant, 86, of Olton, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2023.

“Kathy,” was born Oct. 19, 1936, at Springlake, Texas to James Meredith and Daisy (Jones) Crawford. She welcomed a baby sister at age 5. She grew up on her parents’ farm near Circle. Kathryn attended Olton School District and graduated in 1955.

She married Harley Bryant of Littlefiel­d on June 26, 1955. They were blessed with two daughters. She enjoyed being a wife and homemaker on the Bryant farm. In 1958, the couple moved to Olton to farm Kathryn’s grandmothe­r’s place north of Olton.

Kathryn operated the drive-in they owned across the street from Olton High School. Later, the family moved to the Hereford area on the Godwin Ranch for a few years.The family moved to Lubbock in 1964, then on to Guymon in 1967, where they opened their own irrigation business. After 27 years of marriage they divorced in 1982.

In 1982, Kathryn was hired as the manager of the Texas County Fairground­s and the Texas County Activity Center in Guymon.She managed the Texas County Fair and all events held at the Texas County Activity Center.

In the early 1990’s, she was elected Oklahoma Fair Board President in Oklahoma City. In 1994, Kathryn accepted the position of director of the O’Loughlin Center in Spearman, Texas, where she resided until her retirement in 2008.

While battling nonHodgkin­s Lymphoma, she moved back to Olton, where she enjoyed her retirement years.

Kathryn was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and especially time with friends and family.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Luedke and husband Bruce of Gunter, Texas; and Latayne Smith and husband Audy of Newkirk; four grandchild­ren, Brandon Luedke and wife Amanda of McKinney, Texas; Kelli Hudson and husband Brad of Frisco, Texas; Braden Smith and wife Susannah of Arkansas City, Kan; and Taylor Smith of Garland, Texas; nine greatgrand­children; a sister, Johnnie Beth Boverie and husband Bill of Alamogordo, N.M; and other extended family members.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jimmy Don Crawford.

Services were held at Friday at Main Street Church of Christ with Bill Boverie and Dallas Carrasco officiatin­g. Interment followed in Springlake Cemetery in Springlake, Texas.

The family received friends Thursday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Westview Boys Home (P.O. Box 553, Hollis, Okla. 73550) or the Lubbock Children’s Home (P.O. Box 2824, Lubbock Texas 79408).

Arrangemen­ts were made under the personal care of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton, Texas.
