Miami University Regionals faculty work with students not only in the classroom but in the lab, in the field, and on special projects to train them for the jobs of the changing economy.
During a virtual panel discussion, Miami University Regionals alumni will share their unique in field experiences and how these opportunities prepared them for their current career or graduate school at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Justin Huling is an alumnus who will discuss how classwork and undergraduate research prepared him for a career in the geotechnical industry and how his career has evolved. Justin is a Marine and began his education after serving.
Claudia Dawson is an alumna who did extensive
undergraduate research with Dr. Mark Krekeler, winning several awards. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Baylor University related to water resources.
Matthew Dietrich is an alumnus whose coursework and research led him to pursue a Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University investigating arsenic contamination in Bangladesh. His recent research on pollution in Middletown has been cited extensively.

Learn how to make an easy DIY Spring Mesh Wreath.
Instructors will walk adults through the design step-bystep. Mesh and ribbon will be precut and ready to use. Supplies to be provided will be two rolls of 10-inch deco mesh, three different styles of 1 ½ to 2 ½ inch wire ribbon, a wreath frame and pack of pipe cleaners.
All supplies will be provided but participants are welcome to bring their own. Fee will be $40 for city residents and $44 for non-residents. The class is for those 18 and older. Masks will be required.
