TV HIGHLIGHTS
Movie: The Humans, 8 PM on SHOW:
Stephen Karam makes his directorial debut with his selfpenned adaptation of his 2016 Broadway play, which won both the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize. The action takes place at Thanksgiving, as the Blake family gathers at the rundown apartment of Brigid Blake (Beanie Feldstein, “American Crime Story: Impeachment”) and her boyfriend, Richard (Steven Yuen, “The
Walking Dead”) in New York’s Chinatown. Jayne Houdyshell reprises her Tony-winning performance as the Blake family matriarch, in an ensemble that also includes Richard Jenkins, Amy Schumer and June Squibb.
NOVA, 9 PM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48; 1 AM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48:
This five-part limited series concludes with “NOVA Universe Revealed: Big Bang,” a finale that looks back at the moment many people think of as the moment the universe — and even time itself — started. That notion raises a related question that’s a real headscratcher, though: namely, what existed before the universe was born? This episode winds back the ages using animation based on stunning images from the Hubble Space Telescope.
Intergalactic, 10 PM on SYFY; 2 AM on SYFY:
Realizing that authorities on the Commonworld are conducting an intensive search for the Hemlock, the fugitives try to commandeer a ship that is home to a scientist, Professor Hague Blake (guest star Michael
Smiley), an extreme eccentric with his own menagerie of animals. Blake once worked closely as a colleague of Emma Grieves (Natasha O’Keeffe), but now he has far more sinister plans for his former ally. Savannah Steyn and Sharon Duncan-Brewster also star.
