Habitat training
BEST Volunteer: Stream Habitat Training will be held at 6 p.m. May 12 at Sebald Park, 5580 Elk Creek Road.
Join Butler Soil and Water Conservation District for a volunteer training event. Citizens Qualitative Habitat Assessment Index (cQHEI) is a visual assessment of creek habitat. After attending this class, volunteers can go out on their own to collect habitat data on other streams around the county.
The training will start on dry land and go over the basics, then head down to the creek to practice. Bring closed-toe shoes that can get wet and a lawn chair. This program is suitable for ages 14 and up.
