“My typical day in the Hamptons is (decidedly) rather quiet. No matter where I am, I always wake up at the crack of dawn and take my dog to the beach for a long walk. I usually stay with friends when I’m visiting. After my morning walk, I like to bicycle into town and pop into a few of my favorite shops, such as AERIN (83 Main St., Southampton, 631-3533773; aerin.com). I always like to visit the antiques stores in Bridgehampton, stop in at the Round Swamp Farm Market & Bake Shop (97 School St., Bridgehampton, 631-3244438; roundswampfarm.com) to pick up some fresh goodies, and putter home for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, I will generally retreat to the beach with some friends and have a gossip and a gander at whatever book I’m reading. Early evening, I head to Sag Harbor, which happens to be my favorite of all the Hamptons. I love the architecture and more often than not end up having dinner at Sen (23 Main St., Sag Harbor, 631-725-1774; sen restaurant.com) and a drink at The American Hotel (49 Main St., Sag Harbor, 631-725-3535; theamerican hotel.com). On days when I’m feeling adventurous, I will drive out to Montauk and eat at The Crow’s Nest (4 Old West Lake Dr., Montauk, 631-668-2077; crowsnestmtk.com) and sometimes find divine little things at Melet Mercantile (102 Industrial Road, Montauk, 631-668-2843; meletmercantile.com).”
