IT FEELS LIKE HOME

Jarret and Crystal Willis understand the importance of intimacy: The couple co-owns Blue One, where they hand-pick every single item, giving the shop a rare personal touch. “We function not only as the store’s buyers, but also we sort of moonlight as its public persona,” says Jarret. This summer, the Bridgehampton boutique debuts its long-awaited expansion, featuring a new home line and an increased selection of accessories. The store also introduces a signature candle, which Jarret calls “a piece of us that goes with every one of our clients who buys it.” Crafted to embody the homey, welcoming nature of Blue One, the candle features accents of sugarcane and raw coconut that are sure to warm and delight. “The space really does look and feel like a home,” says Crystal. “And now that it’s all ours, it really is like we’re inviting people into our home.” 2397 Montauk Hwy., Bridgehampton, 631-237-1796; shopblueone.com

PETITE STYLE

Ever wonder how a fashion magazine editor dresses her own children? Former Vogue editors and entrepreneurs Sylvana Durrett and Luisana Mendoza Roccia have answered that question with Maisonette, an online children’s clothing shop with a pop-up this month at Theory in East Hampton. After struggling to find stylish, highquality clothing for their kids, the two women founded Maisonette to curate a selection of apparel for children aged zero to 12, chosen from 125 brands and 40 boutiques. “Maisonette connects customers to the world’s most special and unique children’s products while offering editorial content that provides an insider’s guide to trends, new brands, and tips from tastemakers,” says Mendoza Roccia. The pop-up, which runs August 18–27, will also include kid-friendly activities such as face painting, story time, balloon artists, and a photo booth. 46 Newtown Lane, Ste. 4, East Hampton, 631-3243285; theory.com; maisonette.com
