Behind the scenes at Candice Miller’s full-moon party.
CANDICE MILLER, FOUNDER OF LIFESTYLE BLOG MAMA & TATA, INVITES US BEHIND THE SCENES OF HER LUNAR CELEBRATION.
“Summer is my favorite time. I plant myself in Water Mill, and every weekend, rain or shine, I host lunches and dinners for family and friends. At my annual full-moon party, everyone is invited to drink great wine, eat delicious food, and dance under the bright moon to celebrate life. This year, everyone was filled with great energy that lit up my backyard possibly more than the sky!
“Luminous Designs (141 Central Ave., Unit F, Farmingdale, 631-7700406; luminousdesigns.com) provided twinkle lights above the tables and hanging lights in the trees, for a whimsical effect. The talented Anastasia and Arthur from Sag Harbor Florist (3 Bay St., Sag Harbor, 631-725-1400; sagharborflorist.net) re-created my Alice in Wonderland vision with fresh moss and multicolor arrangements. Keren Precel from Simply Perfect Events (212-254-2535; simplyperfecteventsny.com) selected gray table linens, white linen napkins, and gold flatware to comple- ment the flowers.
“Frosé was the specialty drink, and brick-oven pizzas were perfect for cocktail hour. DJ NVM (djnvm.com) set the mood with oldies like ‘Wild Horses’ and ‘Tracks of My Tears,’ and my chef and dear friend Joanna Siegel started the feast with truffled-lobster salad.
“After dinner was cleared, everyone was out of their seats, dancing until the wee hours. The last ones standing were my friends Rebecca Cohen of Love Shack Fancy and Danielle Snyder of Dannijo, who have great moves! When we’re together, it’s always a dance party, filled with good vibes.” mamaandtata.com
