Dawson Gains 361 Yards In Central Victory

Central sophomore running back Aaron Dawson set a program and Northeast Conference record when he rushed for 361 yards in the Blue Devils’ 49-24 win over Wagner Saturday. Dawson, who tied a program record with five touchdowns, set an NCAA Division I record with 308 rushing yards in the second half. Central (5-4) gave up two non-offensive TDs to open the game before Dawson found his legs in the second half.

Trinity 48, Middlebury 0: The Bantams allowed just 73 yards in a shutout of Middlebury at home. Max Chipouras rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, and Spencer Lockwood had 119 yards and two scores on the ground. Seamus Lambert was 9-for-11 for 179 yards and four touchdowns, and Jonathan Girard and Koby Schofer each had two receiving TDs for Trinity (6-1).

Wesleyan 24, Bowdoin 0: Mark Piccirillo tossed two touchdowns as Wesleyan topped Bowdoin at home. Piccirillo was 15-for-28 for 158 yards, two TDs and an intercepti­on. Running back Glenn Smith had 105 yards and a score for Wesleyan (4-3).

Columbia 17, Yale 10: Two second-half touchdowns lifted Columbia to a win over Yale at home. Alan Lamar rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown, Jimmy Check was 18- for-35 for 238 yards and two intercepti­ons and Reed Klubnik had eight catches for 97 yards for Yale (4-3).

Sacred Heart 49, Bryant 26: Jordan Meachum ran for over 300 yards in Sacred Heart’s NEC win home victory over Bryant. Meachum had 318 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries, including a 99-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. Julius Chestnut also had a day on the ground, rushing for 164 yards and three TDs for Sacred Heart (5-3).

Pace 14, Southern 7: A 24-yard touchdown pass in overtime from Dan Anerella to Brian Dolan helped Pace hand Southern a loss on the road. Matt Sanzaro connected with Hunter Fluegel on a 24-yard TD for the lone Southern (4-4) score.

New Haven 12, Stonehill 7: Two firsthalf touchdowns proved to be enough for New Haven in a road win at Stonehill. CJ Fitzpatric­k returned an intercepti­on 38 yards for a score in the first, and Ajee Patterson found Joe Caico from 11 yards out in the second. Ryan McCarthy had 83 rushing yards for New Haven (7-1).

Western 33, Fitchburg State 12: Austin Calamita hauled in two TD passes and Western beat Fitchburg on the road. Calamita had eight catches for 103 yards. David James was 12-for-20 for 165 yards and two TDs, and Kyle McKinnon and Khalil Patterson each had a rushing TD for Western (8-0).
