-

Stephen Curry is expected to resume practicing this week with a strong chance he will return during an upcoming five-game trip as he battles a strained left groin.

The Warriors star was re-examined Saturday after making significant progress in recent days. He did some scrimmaging work, and coach Steve Kerr said no physical problems lingered from a car accident Friday in which Curry was unharmed.

Curry missed Saturday’s 117-116 win over the Kings. Klay Thompson put back his own miss with 5 seconds left and Kevin Durant scored a season-high 44 points.

C Anthony Davis missed the Pelicans’ 124-114 loss to the Wizards with a strained right hip. ... Rookie Collin Sexton scored a season-high 29 points and the Cavaliers overcame 40 by James Harden to win consecutive games for the first time this season, beating the Rockets 117-108. Rockets G Chris Paul was out (rest). ... Jamal Murray’s 22 points led the Nuggets past the Thunder 105-98 for their third straight win despite Russell Westbrook’s 106th triple-double.
