Rockville downs Old Saybrook; SMSA co-op wins

Quarterbac­k Jonathan O’Coin accounted for four touchdowns as the Rockville High football team, ranked No, 10 in The Courant area rankings, rolled past the co-op of Old Saybrook and Westbrook 34-3 in a Saturday morning Pequot interdivis­ion game at Old Saybrook.

O’Coin was 5-for-12 for 119 yards and two touchdowns and had six carries for 75 yards and two more TDs. Jaquan Dufour had two catches for 65 yards and a score and Jason Clarke had a rushing TD for the Rams (2-0). Cooper Pavlovich had a 25-yard field goal for OSW (0-2).

SMSA/University/ Classical 47, Coginchaug/ Hale-Ray/East Hampton 7: At Durham, Devin Hill had three touchdowns on the day and the visiting SMSA co-op cruised to a Pequot interdivis­ion win. Hill rushed for 138 yards and two TDs and passed for 71 and one. Julian Ryans had 74 yards receiving and a TD for SMSA (2-0). Mark Boyer had six tackles and Jordan Rivera had six tackles and an intercepti­on to lead the defense. Alexander Chase had the lone TD for Coginchaug (1-1).

Windsor Locks/ Suffield/East Granby 21, Gilbert/Northweste­rn 7: The Windsor Locks co-op had three different players score a rushing touchdown in a Pequot Uncas home win over the Yellow Jackets. Michael Quinlan, Jonathan Savalier and Eric Pino all found the end zone to help the Raiders (1-1) pick up their first win of the season.

NFA 41, Glastonbur­y 30: Greg Perry accounted for three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the Tomahawks fell on the road to NFA. Perry was 14-for-28 for 213 yards and two TDs and added a third on the ground. Brandon Myers rushed for 114 yards and a score for Glastonbur­y (1-1). Austin Richards was 24for-46 for 476 yards and five touchdowns for NFA (2-0).

North Branford 19, Haddam-Killingwor­th 6: The Cougars held North Branford scoreless in the first half but Nate Raymond and Brandon Fratta linked up for two scores in the second half and the Thunderbir­ds defeated H-K in a Pequot Sassacus game at North Branford. Alex Riccitelli tossed a 17yard TD to Matteo Piacenti for the lone score and Dalton Modehn rushed for a game-high 111 yards for H-K (0-2).

CREC co-op 38, Commerce (Mass.) 8: Dorrian Chaney had four touchdowns as the CREC co-op picked up its first win of the season in a non-conference game against Commerce (Mass.). Chaney tossed three TDs and added a fourth on the ground. Tomico Williams caught a touchdown and returned an intercepti­on 68 yards for a second for the Colts (1-1).
