Volunteers clean Connecticut River basin
Thousands of volunteers across four states are helping to clean the Connecticut River basin.
The 23rd annual Connecticut River Conservancy’s Source to Sea Cleanup started Friday and continued Saturday.
Volunteers in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts gathered along the banks of the 410-mile river and its tributaries, and in some cases even using boats.
Volunteers typically come from faith communities, environmental groups, schools, community organizations, and business and employee service groups.
