Word choice leaves audience unsure

In The Hartford Couran’ts lead story on Thursday, Sept. 26, there was was an interesting juxtaposition of the word “pushed,” which appeared in both the headline and the photo caption.

The headline read: In “Memo: Trump Pushed Ukraine.”

Then, in the accompanying photo, the caption read: “Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters on Wednesday that ‘nobody pushed me.’”

So, with this discrepancy, whom are Americans to believe?
