Southington edges Hall; Bristol Eastern wins
Brady Lafferty and Josh Vitti connected for two touchdowns to lead Southington to a 28-21 CCC Divison I West win over Hall on Saturday in West Hartford.
Southington (3-1) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter with the first Lafferty-Vitti TD and a Dillon Kohl 74-yard rushing touchdown. Kohl added a second rushing TD in the third quarter. Matt Keller scored three times on the ground for Hall (2-2).
Bristol Eastern 35, Hartford Public 0: Dylan Garcia’s three touchdowns helped visiting Bristol Eastern shut out Hartford Public in a CCC interdivision game. Garcia finished with 148 yards on 18 carries, a career high. Alex Marshall added 214 yards, also a career high, and a TD on 26 carries for the Lancers (2-2). Hartford Public falls to 0-4.
Ellington 33, Morgan 6: Nate Schneider rushed for three touchdowns and Ellington upended Morgan in a Pequot interdivision road game in Clinton. Schneider finished with 176 yards on 26 carries. Zach Killoran was 10-for-14 for 172 yards, two TDs and Thomas Garrow had four catches for 115 yards and a TD for Ellington (3-1). Andrew Nye had a 28-yard TD pass from Michael Zingarella for the lone Morgan (0-3) score.
Rockville 34, North Branford 14: Rockville scored 34 unanswered points to defeat North Branford in a Pequot interdivision home game in Vernon. Jaquan Dufour had 103 yards and a touchdown, Kevin Foley rushed for 41 yards and two scores and Jon O’Coin passed for 101 yards and two TDs for the Rams (4-0). Rockville’s defense had four interceptions and six sacks to stifle North Branford (2-2).
Gilbert/Northwestern 20, Haddam-Killingworth 0: Anthony Carfiro tossed two touchdowns as the coop of Gilbert and Northwestern defeated visiting Haddam-Killingworth in a Pequot interdivision at Winsted. Carfiro tossed TD passes of 56 and 63 yards, to Fred Camp and Chase Sanden, respectively. Marco Folino added a rushing TD for the Yellowjackets (1-2). H-K falls to 0-4.
Windsor Locks/ Suffield/East Granby 38, Old Saybrook/Westbrook 0: Eric Pino and Matt Raine accounted for all five touchdowns as the Windsor Locks co-op shut out visiting Old Saybrook/Westbrook in a Pequot interdivision game. Pino rushed for two touchdowns in the second half and opened the scoring with a 40-yard interception return TD in the first. Raine added a rushing and receiving TD for the Raiders (3-1). OSW falls to 1-3.
CREC co-op 20, Windham 8: The CREC co-op scored three different ways to defeat Windham in an ECC Divison III home game at Civic Leadership High in Enfield. Dorrian Chaney and Demari Morrell connected on an 18-yard TD in the first quarter for the Colts (3-1). Tomico Williams had a 65-yard kickoff return and Raiden McDade had a 96-yard interception return for TDs. Jacon Rodriguez Santiago had a 9-yard TD run for Windham (0-4).
Late Friday
Rocky Hill 34, East Catholic 18: Konnor Walsh passed for three touchdowns and Rocky Hill defeated visiting East Catholic in a CCC Division III West game. Walsh got the Terriers (1-3) going with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Matt Sevigny. East Catholic (0-4) responded with a 20-yard TD pass from Tim Wilson to Jack Barry. But Walsh followed with his second TD pass, to Omar Ahmed, to give Rocky Hill the lead for good. Nico Capasso added two rusing TDs and an interception for Rocky Hill.
