Have we had enough yet?
The El Paso Walmart recently reopened. In case you’ve forgotten, like I had, 22 people were killed there by a shooter targeting immigrants. Last weekend, another school shooting took place in California. Two other shootings followed in the next few days. In just this year there have been 46 school shootings and 369 mass shootings. How many lives does this equal?
While we are becoming increasingly numb to all this carnage, think about the families affected by these unnecessary deaths. They are not numb. They feel the pain every day and will do so for the rest of their lives. The NRA, the president and Congress have not and will not do anything. All the thoughts and prayers have done nothing. We know universal background checks and limiting assault weapons could save thousands of lives, and yet, we do nothing.
