Hugh Brian Allen, 88, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Dorothy Margot (Carnsew) Allen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Known by family and friends as Brian, he was born July 3, 1932 in Donecloney, Northern Ireland, only son of the late Rev. Hugh Allen and Phyllis (Deale) Allen. Brian was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he received a doctorate of medicine in 1959. After working in family practice in various hospitals in Northern Ireland, he became a physician at Cuckfield Hospital in Sussex, England, where he met and married the love of his life, Margot, in 1962. He then joined Bayer Pharmaceut­icals as UK Medical Director for 20 years. In 1985 he took the position of Vice President of Bayer US moving with his family to Guilford, CT, where they lived until Brian's retirement in 1995.Over the following 10 years, Brian enjoyed life on Pine Island, Florida, pursuing his keen interests in classical music, opera, reading, golfing, boating and traveling. Among his favorite destinatio­ns was New Zealand, where he spent several wonderful months exploring the country in a camper with Margot at his side. In more recent years, Brian and Margot moved back to Simsbury, Connecticu­t to be close to family. It was here that Brian joined the Simsbury Farms Golf Club and entered the McLean Village community as an active resident. In addition to Margot, his devoted wife of almost 59 years, Brian is survived by three loving children: his daughter, Fiona Eytan and her husband Ran of Canton; his sons, Patrick Allen and wife Krista of Canton, and Peter Allen and wife Carla Ross Allen of Brooklyn, NY. He is also survived by his eight grandchild­ren, Kayla (and husband Dan Dombrowski,) Ryan and Jacob Allen, Ben, Emma, Adam and Tom Eytan and Zoë Ross Allen and two great grandchild­ren, Dylan and Rilee Dombrowski. Anita, Mémère (Fortin) Cormier, 93 of Bristol passed away February 18, 2021 at the Summit at Plantsvill­e. She was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert Cormier who passed away May 4, 2020 for 67 years.

Born September 3, 1927 in Blue River, Quebec she was the daughter of the late Delphis and Amanda (Dionne)

Fortin.

Anita, Mémère was known for her love of her family. Spending time with her family was what she treasured the most. She was very generous, hospitable and was famous for her molasses cookies and fudge. She loved spending time with her grandchild­ren and was a loving and caring wife to her husband Gil. She was the glue to our family and will be deeply missed but, never forgotten.

Anita was the loving mother of 6 children, Joseph (Ron) Jambard and his wife Linda, Phyllis Farnsworth, Melvin Cormier, Jerald Cormier, David Cormier and wife Cathy, Alan Cormier and wife Kathy; daughter in-law Sarah Dutro Cormier; son in-law Bob Beveridge; 12 grandchild­ren, 9 great- grandchild­ren, and two great- great- grandchild­ren.

She is predecease­d by her son Gilbert Cormier and her daughter Angie Cormier Beveridge and son in-law Robert Farnsworth.
