LAUZON – Robert E. Lauzon, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was the devoted husband to Marie (Goulet) Lauzon for 60 years. Born January 12, 1935 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; the son of the late Herve and Berthe (Legault) Lauzon. Bob was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Winsted and a communican­t of St. Joseph Church. He was a highly respected, admired and loved member of his community and a well known Highland Lake resident. He was cherished for all he did including building a hockey rink on the lake for all in the area to enjoy. In addition to his dedicated wife, he leaves his beloved three sons, Robert G. Lauzon and wife Sharon of Wethersfie­ld, John M. Lauzon and wife Charlotte of Winsted and Marc E. Lauzon of Winsted; a sister, Lise Menard of Canada; five cherished grandchild­ren, Emily, Megan, Nathan, Brianna and Michaela; and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by seven brothers and two sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at St. Joseph Church at 11 AM. Following CDC guidelines, the church will allow a maximum of 200 people to attend requiring the wearing of face masks and social distancing. They will be live streaming of the service on the church's website at stjoseph-winsted. org for those unable to attend. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held in the spring at a time to be announced. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted has care of the arrangemen­ts.
