Rita T. (Collins) Bussiere, 94, of Windsor Locks, beloved wife to the late Lucien A. Bussiere, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Rita was born on January 23, 1927 in Lewiston, Maine to Alexandre and Orazia (Rock) Collins.

Rita grew up in Maine where she attended and completed her schooling. When she moved to Connecticu­t, she lived in Hartford until 1970 before moving to Windsor where lived until her husband's passing 1993. After his passing, she then relocated to Windsor Locks up until her passing. Rita was employed with Stanadyne Corporatio­n in Windsor for many years where she worked as a machine operator. Rita was always willing to put in the extra effort and help wherever she was needed. Anything you asked of her, she was there to help. She was a very independen­t and humble woman. She loved her family so very much. In her spare time, she could be found taking care of her numerous grandchild­ren before and after school and making sure they were fed and cared for. Rita was an outstandin­g cook and always looked forward to her family Sunday dinners where she finished it off with her famous chocolate cream pie. Rita loved different cuisines but always went back to her son's “lazy man lobster”. Rita was also a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Gabriel Church in Windsor.

Rita is survived by her loving children Irene Villone of Waterville, ME, Theresa Millares of Miami, FL, Rene Bussiere and his wife Antoinette of Windsor Locks, Linda Beaulieu of Hartford, Yvonne Bussiere of Windsor Locks, Pauline Guarnieri and her husband Robert of Manchester, Roger Bussiere and his wife Valerie of Broadbrook and Diane Bussiere of Westfield, MA; many grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren and three great-great-grandchild­ren. In addition to her parents and husband, Rita was predecease­d by her children Norman Bussiere, Marcel Bussiere, Nancy Maynard, Lucien Bussiere and Roland Bussiere.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St., Windsor. Guests are asked to please go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in the Mount St. Benedict Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomfield.
