Romano, Joseph

Joseph Romano, 74, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital. Born on March 26, 1947 in Floridia, Province of Siracusa, Sicily, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Ierna) Romano.

Joseph will be sadly missed by a son, Salvatore Romano of California; a daughter, Elysa Romano Bazoge and her husband Cedric of Texas, along with his beloved granddaughter, Zoe Bazoge. Joseph also leaves his sister, Enza Ksiazek and her husband Theodore “Ted” of Middletown and Joanne Romano of Hartford as well as his niece, Jessica Ksiazek and nephews, Salvatore “Sal” Romano, Sebastiano “Sebby” Romano and Antonio “Tony” Romano, along with two very close friends, Jackie and Michael and several other extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Romano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday (April 30th) at St. James Church (St. Josephine Bakhita Parish) 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill, CT. Everyone is asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will take place privately in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joe's memory may be made to the charity of one's choosing.
