Louise (Taucher) Geiger, RN, 94, of Bristol, passed away of natural causes on Friday, April 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Carl Geiger, who predecease­d her in 2011 after 62 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Taucher growing up in New Britain, CT and attending New Britain schools. She was a 1947 graduate of New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a nurse anesthetis­t before starting her family. She raised six children and volunteere­d with various organizati­ons during her time as a stay at home mom. She returned to work when her youngest reached school age and she took on the challenge of teaching at Briarwood College. Louise then became a nurse reviewer for Cigna, retiring at the insistence of her husband. Louise, affectiona­tely known as Mammy to her grandchild­ren, loved to spend vacations with her family at the Cape, leaving all the best childhood memories. She leaves to mourn her loss, her children Nancy Cavallari of New Hartford, Rosemary Schrager and husband Jay of Bristol, William Geiger and wife Deborah of Bristol, Catherine Brin and husband Allan of Bristol, Joanne Lenoce of Tolland, Theresa Lawlor and husband James of Stafford Springs, fifteen grandchild­ren and ten great-grandchild­ren, Michael (Paula) Cavallari, and children Colin and Emma, Jennifer (Dan) Durkin and children Annabel and Madeleine, Carlene (Justin) Fiorito and children Joshua, Olivia, and Matthew, Dan Cavallari, Timothy Geiger, Sarah (Jesse) Camp, and children Blake and Jonathan, David Schrager, Anthony (Jaci) Cavallari and son Harrison, Carolyn Schrager, Stephanie (Scott) McNeill, Marissa Lenoce, Laura Brin, Andrew Lenoce, Erica Lawlor, and Ethan Lawlor. She had a special bond with her 100 year old sister Dorothy who will miss their evening phone calls. She also leaves her brother Theodore Taucher and sister Elizabeth Tkac. Besides her husband Carl, Louise was predecease­d by her son-in-laws Michael Lenoce and John Cavallari. She was also predecease­d by her sisters Marion, Mildred and Evelyn and brothers John and Charles. The family would like to thank Bristol Hospital, Bristol Hospice and Heavenly Hands for the wonderful care they provided over the last month. Thank you to Angela's Prestige Home Care for giving Louise the opportunit­y to remain in her home, a place she loved for the last 62 years. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol from 9 AM until 10:30 AM followed by a procession to St. Gregory Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM then to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
