William H. Robinson, Sr, 96 loving husband of Marilyn (Gillis) Robinson, died April 17, 2021. Born in Waterburty, CT on January 25, 1925. Son of the late Frederick C. and Vera (Mailman) Robinson. He grew up in Naugatuck, graduating from Central Avenue Elementary and Naugatuck High School. During his senior year Bill took part in the Victory Corps, which was a war effort program. Every day after school from 3 – 10 pm he went to work at the US Rubber company.

He was a US Navy veteran of eight years, serving in the amphibious force in the Pacific Theater during World War II, he was also recalled to duty during the Korean Conflict. He served aboard the USS Freemont APA-44, USS Titania AKA-13, and the USS Bowers APD-40. Growing up Bill worked with his father in the ice business and later for Southern New England Ice Company. After he military service he went to work for the Brock–Hall Dairy as a driver (milkman) and later in management office. He retired as a sales representa­tive for the Russell Hall Company of Meriden.

He was a member of the USS Freemont Assoc, the USS Sampson World War Veterans Assoc, the VFW and the American Legion Halls. He was a member of the First Congregati­onal Church of Westbrook, past member of the Lions Club and the Middlesex Management Club. He also an avid Red Sox, NY Giants and Boston Celtics fan. He and his wife Marilyn loved to follow UCONN Women's Basketball. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling to his Navy ships reunions, trips to Myrtle Beach and to Florida for baseball Spring Training. He also enjoyed his morning coffee with his buddies; Bill Reid, John Hiller, Earl Vincent, and Red Reynolds.

He was predecease­d by his first wife Evelyn (Beesley) Robinson and step-son Timothy Tucker. Besides his wife he is survived by his son William H Robinson, Jr and his wife Joanne of Lyme; his daughter Marcia E. Westcott and her husband Tripp of Lake Bomoseen, VT; his grandchild­ren Challon LeFebvre and her husband Jon of Greenwich, Bryce Westcott and his wife Carly of Charleston, SC, Amy Gutgsell of Niantic, and William H. Robinson III and his partner Brittany Uphold of Uncasville. Hus stepchildr­en Jon Tucker of Westport, Laura Tucker of Madison and Lynne Fredericks­on of Essex. He also leaves behind six great grandchild­ren. Brother of Dorothy Sydroiak and her late husband Mike of Naugatuck and Fred Robinson and his wife Sandy of san Diego, CA.

Bill was a longtime friend of Bill W. He cherished the friendship­s developed through this group and all the help they gave to he and his wife Marilyn.

Services will be held privately and with a Military Honors burial in Cypress Hill Cemetery, Westbrook.
