Carroll, Trudy

Trudy “GE” Carroll, 94, of Simsbury, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at her home. She was born January 19, 1927 in New Britain, daughter of the late John M. and Leocadia “Lottie” Karwoski Evans. She is survived by daughters, Donna Carroll Garrett (Paul) of Asheville, NC and Lee-Ann Carroll Mastrianni (Ken) of Plainville as well as sister-inlaw, Helen Evans of Farmington and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Ann Carroll of New Britain, her sister, Clare Clark of Bloomfield and her brother, John Evans of Farmington.

Trudy attended the University of Connecticut and lived in Texas and Virginia prior to moving to Simsbury 56 years ago. She was an Administrative Assistant for the Simsbury Public Schools and the Board of Education for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tariffville and volunteered with many organizations over the years including Civitan, Simsbury Historical Society and elections. Our mom was very generous and caring of her family and friends. She loved people and was very social. She was an avid bridge and mah jong player and also loved watching and playing golf.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 5th at Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Road in Simsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Tariffville School Scholarship Fund through Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Church Street, Tariffville, CT 06081. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury is caring for the arrangements.
