Girard, Irene

Irene (LeBlanc) Girard, 80, of Windsor, CT., passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021. She was born June 29, l940, to the late Delia L. Page and Henry J. LeBlanc. She worked for many years as an office manager for several companies, and spent hours baking, sewing and crafting. She shared her love of baking with her family and friends, many of whom were the beneficiaries of her famous coffee cakes. Her most favorite activity was her family's annual apple pie making day.

Her family was the most important thing in her life. She leaves behind her beloved children, Darlene Girard Wigglesworth and husband, Paul, of Newington, Deborah Girard Sanford and husband, Gary, of Madison, and Douglas Girard and fiancée, Michelle Dax, of Bolton. She adored her grandchildren, Brittany and Jack Wigglesworth, Matthew, Thomas and Katherine Sanford and Erica and Makayla Girard. She also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Farley, of Simsbury, Leo Girard, the father of her children as well as many special in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph Leo Girard and her sister Constance (Connie) Couture.

Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours, Friday May 7th from 4 to 7 pm at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday May 8th at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Church, 225 King Philip Dr., West Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Mount. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Irene's memory may be made to Mended Hearts Greater Hartford Chapter 9, www.mendedheartsct.org.
