Gessay, Paul D.

Paul D. Gessay, 70, of Broad Brook, Connecticut, passed away peacefully April 29, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. Paul grew up in Rockville and was a graduate of the University of Connecticut. He worked at Rogers Corporation and later for The Hartford Insurance Group. He pursued many interests, among them scrabble games, even entering tournaments, bridge games, and long bike treks. Theater with the Suffield Players was an outlet for his creativity behind the scenes and as an actor. Paul traveled throughout New England photographing nature and waterfalls, posting many beautiful pictures and original poems on Facebook. Paul, son of the late John and Mary (Thompson) Gessay, is survived by his sister Clare Despathy and her husband Ralph, and his brothers John Gessay and wife Susan, and Noel Gessay and wife Susan. He was predeceased by his sisters Jeanne Gessay and Kathleen Bachiochi. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Paul will truly be missed. Services will be private.
