Luis Manuel Pereira dos Santos, 48, passed away on May 5, 2021 at his home in Windsor, CT. Luis was born January 13, 1973 in Casal de Além, Portugal. He leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Isabelle Agostinho Santos, and their two sons Michael Antonio Santos and Max Luis Santos. His sons were his pride and joy.

Luis is survived by his family in Portugal, including his parents Manuel dos Santos and Maria Luisa Pereira dos Santos, his sister Sandrina Silva and her husband Sandro, sister Catarina Feitor and her husband Antonio, and his brother Rodrigo Santos and his wife Monia. He also leaves his father- and mother-in-law Antonio and Helena Agostinho of Windsor, CT, his sister-in-law Silvy Fangman, and his sister-in-law Susete Riddell and her husband Timothy. Luis leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Fabio, Bruno, Kristofer, Timoteo, Lucas, Taylor, Sandra, Adrianna, Rebecca, Iris, Soraia, Lexi, and Adrianna in addition to many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins in the United States and Portugal.

He and Isabelle first met in 1988 in Cortiçal, Portugal, while she was visiting for the summer from the US. Over the next 6 years, their romance grew through numerous cross-Atlantic letters and as many visits as the two could make possible. In 1994, they were married in Monsanto, Portugal and soon after moved to Windsor, CT, where they built their lives together.

Luis was known for his ingenuity and ability to fix anything he put his hands on. By the age of 12, he began to learn the skills needed to be an auto mechanic in Portugal. Over the years, he further developed those skills and became a well-known and respected mechanic in the Hartford area for over 25 years. Most recently, Luis earned his Commercial Driver's License and establishe­d LMS Trucking, Inc.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who also loved to dance and play the accordion. Luis was also a dedicated fan of the Portuguese soccer team Benfica. Despite his many hobbies and interests, nothing brought Luis more joy than the time he spent with his family and friends. His greatest achievemen­t was as a father. He was so proud of Michael and Max.

Luis touched the lives of so many people and will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Square, 50 Kane Street, Hartford, CT. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford immediatel­y following the Mass. The public is asked to go directly to the Church.
