Rosa Di Maio, 77, the beloved wife of Samuel Joseph Di Maio for the last 50 years, suddenly passed away on Thursday, April 29th, 2021. Rosa was born in Santa Margherita di Belice, Sicily on December 10, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Giuseppe Macchi and Antonina (Ferrera) Macchi. Rosa will be dearly missed by her son Francis Samuel, his wife Dorothy (Bors) Di Maio, her daughter Maryann Rose, her husband Randy Brown, and her one granddaugh­ter Samantha Rose, who was named after Samuel and Rosa.

Rosa loved cooking, listening to music, dancing, children, but most of all spending time with her family. Rosa worked as a seamstress most of her life, before working in the school system cafeteria, where she enjoyed interactin­g with the children.

Rosa is survived by one brother, Frank Macchi, his wife Lucy, extended family of nieces and nephews, particular­ly her Goddaughte­r Anita Attianese, who she shared a special bond with.

Rosa lived most of her life in East Hartford, CT before moving down to Port St. Lucie, FL with her husband Samuel. Since, they have moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to live with their son Francis and daughter in law, where they helped Sam take care of her.

Calling hours for Rosa Di Maio will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Little River, SC on Friday May 28th, 2021 from 10am-12pm. Due to cremation, there will be no burial or church services.
