Dennis, Lisa

-

After years of challenging health issues, Lisa Dennis, 60, of Hartford, passed peacefully with loved ones by her side on May 1st, 2021.

Lisa graduated from South Catholic High School and was an alumnus of Boston University. She was an avid sports fan, and her greatest joy at South Catholic High was as a cheerleader for the football and basketball teams. Her career path was guided by her passion for protecting the safety and well-being of children, especially those with special needs. Lisa worked for The Connecticut Children's Place and The Village for Families and Children. Lisa's favorite place was Cape Cod where she enjoyed its beauty with long, barefoot walks on the beaches. It was the one place that she felt at peace and free of worry. Lisa also had an artistic side and enjoyed working in community theater.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Barbara Mitchell Dennis; her twin sister, Lyn Dennis and sister, Andrea DennisLaVigne; her brother-in-law, Randy LaVigne; her beloved nephew, Justin LaVigne; half-sister, Samantha Williams; and cousins, Kim Hyde, and Michael, Mark, and Rick Dennis; as well as many special friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for her exceptional care on numerous occasions at Hartford Hospital, as well as to the Westside Care Center of Manchester for their constant support for Lisa's well-being.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a future date.

Donations in her memory may be made to The Village for Families and Children, Hartford, Connecticut, or any charity of your choice that benefits children.
