Delwyn Norton, 80, passed away on May 4, 2021 at home. He was born on September 25, 1940 in York Village, Maine, son of the late Phyllis Johnson Norton and Delwyn Norton.

Delwyn served our country proud as a member of the United States Airforce from November 1958 – October 1962 and received the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a foreman at Pratt and Whitney where he retired in 2004 after 42 years of service. Delwyn invented five different U.S. Patents. His favorite pastimes included gardening and yard work, spending time with his grandkids, being a life-long Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed verbal sparring with his Yankee loving grandchild­ren. Delwyn will be remembered as a man that lived for his family, always attending any activity his grandchild­ren were involved in.

Delwyn is survived by his partner of 17 years, Lynne Smith; daughter Karen Doolittle and her husband James Doolittle, Jr.; daughter-in-law Joey Lee Norton; grandchild­ren James D. Norton, Jr, Kaitlin Norton, James Doolittle, III and Tyler Doolittle; brother Morrell Norton; sister Janeth Beckett; and two cats Dutchess and Patches. He was pre-deceased by son James Norton. Delwyn will be inurned in a private military service at Ft. Jackson Cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina on May 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
