Therrien, Cecile M.
Cecile M. (Thibeault) Therrien, 90, of Middletown, CT, wife of the late Alonzo Joseph Therrien, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Biddeford, ME in 1931, she moved to Connecticut with her young family in 1952, first to Hartford, then spending the rest of her life in Middletown.
Cecile is survived by her daughter, Diane and husband Jack Lally of Hebron; and her three sons, Jerry and wife Sharon of Germantown, Maryland, Roger and wife Diane of Higganum, and David of Southington. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. As “Memere”, she especially enjoyed sharing in the lives of her eight grandchildren: Danielle, Mike, Jolie, Lori, Patrick, Kathleen, Melissa, and Michael; as well as her seven great-grandchildren: Jack, Luciana, Holli, Cadence, Jase, Shay, and Ian. She was predeceased by her brother, Leo Paul Thibeault; and sister, Therese Thibeault.
She cherished her family gatherings above all else and was never want for dear friends. She loved to travel, whether near or far. Cecile was the heart of the family, the confidant, and freely gave of herself to everyone. She was independent and greatly admired for her resourcefulness, conscientiousness, kindness, and concern for others. Mom, thank you for teaching us how to make pork pie, to laugh, and for being the example of how we should appreciate every day of our lives. You are loved and will be dearly missed.
Funeral services and burial were private. A Celebration of Life will be planned in the near future. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The American Heart Association.
