Hutson-Pugliese, Caroline

-

Caroline Hutson-Pugliese, born Caroline Coolidge Smith on August 25, 1978, was only 42 years old when she passed away far too soon on May 12th, 2021 after a long standing battle with illness. She was, and always will be a source of beauty, and joy.

Our Caroline was a doting mother, gentle soul, and homemaker. Anyone fortunate enough to cross her path knew how eager she was to lend a helping hand, and share whatever she had with those in need. She had great empathy for the underdogs of society, and would often uplift strangers with kind words. She valued authenticity, and bore no qualms in telling you who she was. She was a seeker of truth, and an eternal student, always learning, and asking questions. This made her an incredible conversationalist and listener. Caroline didn't fear the darker facets of human existence, and possessed emotional depth that made those around her feel safe, and understood. Her wit, intellect, and hilarity are arguably what will be missed the most amongst family and friends. Caroline was born in Hartford, Connecticut. She lived in New Britain, CT, North Carolina, Germany, and, Glastonbury, CT.

She is survived by many loved ones, including her 4 daughters, Maia Smith, Gabrielle Hutson-Pugliese, Alexandra Hutson-Pugliese, and Samantha Freeman; her boyfriend, Nicolas Freeman; her mother, Joanne McLaughlin, father, Timothy Smith, and stepmother, Francie Brown Holmes; her brother, Joseph Smith; her sister, Christen Smith; and her beloved granddaughter, Honesty Cincotta, who inherited her grandmother's ocean blue eyes.

What a blessing to be graced by Caroline's life and all the vibrancy she shared with us.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Monday, May 24th at 11 am. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc., www.ahernfuneralhome.com.
