Anthony G. Thomas, 63 of Torrington, CT entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 surrounded by his life partner, sister, and best friends. Born June 14, 1957 in Stamford, CT, Anthony was one of four children born to Sarah L. (Hillman) Thomas and Milton C. Thomas Sr. Anthony graduated from Westhill High School and attended the University Of Connecticu­t where he studied business administra­tion.

Anthony loved his family and gladly nurtured his ‘look alike' nephew, Alvin B. Carter lll. He was the beloved brother of Milton C. Thomas Jr. and Mark D. Thomas, and Connie (Thomas) Carter. Anthony was blessed with a loving and devoted life partner, Helvi Kramer, and he cherished the youngest edition to his family, grandniece, Vada Simone Carter.

Anthony had a long and satisfying career in consumer and commercial banking. Although his home base was in Hartford, he had clients throughout CT and West Chester County. His expertise was in automobile dealership financing, portfolio management, and new business developmen­t. As a banker, Anthony had exceptiona­l industry and regulatory knowledge and completed numerous profession­al developmen­t and regulatory trainings.

Anthony was an avid golfer, loved basketball, and enjoyed traveling. He played and collected guitars and loved listening to jazz – the mesmerizin­g saxophone of Boney James in particular- and attending jazz concerts. A well-dressed man who loved shoes, Anthony was the proud owner of a distinguis­hed wardrobe.

Caring and thoughtful, Anthony always looked out for others and offered support and comfort to all who knew him. He loved his family! He loved life! Anthony is predecease­d by his parents, Sarah L. (Hillman) Thomas, of Covington, GA and Milton C. Thomas Sr. of Stone Mountain, GA; and his sister-in-law, Judy (Olsiewicz) Thomas of Stamford, CT. Anthony is survived by his life partner, Helvi Kramer of Cromwell, CT; his brothers Milton C. Thomas Jr. and Mark D. Thomas of Stamford, CT; his sister, Connie (Thomas) Carter of Springfiel­d, MA; a brother-in-law, Roger A. Sessom of Springfiel­d, MA; a sister-in-law, Karla (Soares) Thomas of Norwalk, CT; his nieces, Erika (Thomas) Howard of Coral Springs, FL and Sarah Thomas of Norwalk, CT; his nephews, Alvin B. Carter lll, and his wife Stefanie Gambino-Carter of Natick, MA and Grayson Thomas of Norwalk, CT; his grand-nieces, Victoria Mason of Bermuda, Gabriella Howard of Coral Springs, FL, and Vada Simone Carter of Natick, MA; and his loving best friends, Michael Bradshaw of West Haven and Ressinia Driffin of East Haven, and many cousins and close friends. In remembranc­e of Anthony, a celebratio­n service will be held 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Avenue, New Haven, CT. Interment will follow.
