Callahan Jr, Robert A.

Robert A. Callahan, Jr., 68, of West Hartford, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday June 5, 2021. He was born in Hartford to the late Robert and Katherine (Zahronsky) Callahan. He worked as a contractor and was a talented finish carpenter. The family will miss his cheerful assistance and advice on innumerable home improvement projects. Bob was an avid golfer and long-time member of

the Men's Club at Rockledge Country Club. He was particularly proud to be a two-time senior champion and would never turn down an invitation to golf. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Sheila Clark of Avon, sons Robert Callahan III and Jeffrey Callahan both of VT, daughter Kathleen Callahan of NY and step daughter Melissa Clark. He is also survived by brothers, Peter Callahan of NV, Christopher Callahan of CO, sisters Katherine Callahan and husband Jonathan Blancaflor of Haddam, Ruth Pitts and husband Timothy of Nantucket, MA, Marie Callahan and husband Barry Baker of West Hartford, three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his brother Stephen Callahan. His brother, John Callahan, passed away June 6, 2021.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 22, 2021 at 11am at Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT 06109. Burial will follow in

Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, CT. Visiting hours will be before the funeral service on Tuesday June 22, 2021 from 9am - 11am at the funeral home.
