Irene Rose (Aleria) Driscoll, 96, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2021, after a long illness. Beloved widow of Francis Driscoll, she was born on July 20, 1924, in Hartford to Salvatore and Antoinette (Guistianni) Aleria. Irene was raised in the Front Street section of Hartford and graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1942. After high school, she worked sewing parachutes for WWII and later at First National where she met her

husband. She was a devout catholic and longtime communican­t of Our Lady of Peace in East Hartford. Irene's family was the center of her life. She was an avid cook and baker giving her family many memories of her home cooked Sunday sauce, rolls, pies, cookies and so much more. Beautiful wedding cakes for the family were her specialty; an honor she held with much pride and happiness for herself and each bride. Survived by her two sons, Francis Driscoll II, and his wife Susan of Windsor, William Driscoll, and his wife Linda of East Hartford, and two grandsons Samuel Driscoll of Windsor and William Driscoll of East Hartford. She also leaves her brother Frank Aleria and his wife Gayle of East Hartford, her brother-in-law Sebastian Greco of Largo, Florida and her sister Ann Trabucco of East Hartford as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother Anthony Aleria and her sisters Sadie Hodgdon and Concetta Greco.
