SOMERS CT - Rosemarie Vilece, age 88 of Somers CT, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in Garden City SC after a brief illness. She was the widow of Robert J. Vilece. Rose was born in the Bronx NY on November 10, 1932, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Raffaela (Calabrese) Taddeo. She was educated in local schools and worked for many years in the Production Department of Milton Bradley retiring in 1998. In her early years, Rose enjoyed dancing and in

her later years she loved to travel and go to the beach. Rose was a woman of extraordin­ary faith and a longtime parishione­r of St Bernard's Church. Rose was able to see the joy and opportunit­y that life gave her even during the most difficult of times. She enjoyed each and every day to the fullest and she made the world a better place for all of us. What was most important to Rose throughout her life was her family, especially her daughters and grandchild­ren. She would never turn down an opportunit­y to spend time with any of them no matter the time or day. Rose will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her and we are most thankful to have had her in our lives.

Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her daughters; Christine Vilece Casey and her husband, Tom of Murrells Inlet SC, Sue Thompson of Surfside Beach SC with whom Rose made her home for 27 wonderful years, Claire Lewis and her husband, Tim of Enfield and Robin Gill of Somers. She also leaves a sister, Alberta Wallis of Lynchburg VA and her beloved grandchild­ren; Alicia Dessereau, Kyle Lewis, Danielle Casey Quevedo, Morgan and Sydney Gill and Melissa Warner and two great grandchild­ren, Lucy and Lucas. Funeral services for Mrs. Vilece will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Jeanne Jugan Parish, St Bernard Church, with the Rev John Melnick as Principal Celebrant, 426 Hazard Avenue Enfield CT 06082. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held at the convenienc­e of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Rose's family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the Leete Stevens Funeral Home 61 South Rd Enfield CT 06082.
