Van, Joshua
Joshua Van passed away on June 17, 2021 at Advent Health Hospital in Ocala Florida surrounded by family. He was just 41.
Born in Simsbury, CT to Richard Van and Kathleen Garrity Van. Josh attended Simsbury High School where he played varsity soccer for four years, his last as captain, and was All State and All New England. He accepted a scholarship to Marist College, where he co-captained the soccer team for three years and graduated with a business degree. Josh worked in the construction business for several years until he relocated and became a well-respected construction supervisor in the Dallas metro area. Josh's greatest joy and biggest loves were his two children. He cherished all of the friendships and the memories he made throughout his life.
Along with his children, Josh's passions were soccer, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Stars, country music and his many friends. He loved golf, dogs, barbeque sauce, sharing stories, and laughing.
Josh leaves behind his beloved children, Elle and Decker Van, his mother, Kathleen Van, his father and stepmother, Richard and Pamela Van, his sister, Heather Dayner, his stepsisters, Cristina and Stefanie Swift, his niece Schuyler Dayner and many loving uncles and aunts and cousins.
No parents could have asked for a better son. Josh will be missed by many, will always be loved, and never forgotten.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
