Nilsson, Betty J.(Pryhoda)

-

Betty Jane (Pryhoda) Nilsson, 74, of Windsor, beloved wife to the late Albert R. Nilsson, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, May 10, 2021. Betty was born on August 28, 1946 in Clinton, MA, daughter to the late Joseph and Stephania (Cirka) Pryhoda.

Betty was born and raised in Massachusetts, graduating from Clinton High School, Class of 1964. Betty and Albert moved to Windsor, Connecticut in 1979 where she had made her home since. Betty was a very talented woman - she was a very creative individual and was known by many for her diverse crafting skills. When the pandemic began in the Spring of 2020, Betty began making hundreds of face coverings and would

send them all over the United States for family and friends to utilize and enjoy. She loved finding fun and unusual fabrics for each specific recipient! She enjoyed sewing and crocheting; making doll clothes, quilts, blankets and beautiful afghans. Betty was also an amazing cook and regularly expressed her creativity in the kitchen. She would frequently bake treats for her grandchildren, especially to commemorate smaller moments like a first or last day of school, or just because she knew they would enjoy a new recipe she was trying. Betty developed a strong interest in genealogy and astrology in more recent years and enjoyed sharing this knowledge with her family. She traced her own maternal and paternal lineages back several generations, and was able to do the same for her late husband's family. She was quite proud of this recent accomplishment! Betty was creative in her career as well, becoming a hairdresser shortly after graduating high school. Betty enjoyed the connections that her chosen profession brought to her life and many of her customers became friends. She continued to work part-time because she cared so much for her customers and relied on them to keep her own balance in life. Betty shared a love of books, especially certain thrillers which she enjoyed trading or sharing with her son-in-law, Michael. Betty had a wonderful love for life, and many of her passions – music, reading, gardening, and creative pursuits to name a few – have been lovingly instilled in her daughter, April. And mostly, Betty had an immense love for her grandchildren and continually supported them whether it be attending their school concerts, performances, sporting events or to just spending time with them. Her many gifts of creativity and generosity will live on with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Betty's family will miss

her so, so much.

Betty is survived by her daughter April Michaud and her husband Michael of Windsor; her three beloved grandchildren Charlotte, Bennett and Audrey; her grand-dog, Millie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Maloney.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 11-11:30 a.m. at the Lodge Community

Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor, with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Lodge. Burial will be private in Windsor Veterans Memorial

Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, especially a charity in support of children. To leave an online message of condolence for her family, please visit www. carmonfuneralhome.com.
