Savina, Kathleen (Stackpole)

- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

Kathleen (Stackpole) Savina died on May 27, 2021 in Raynham, MA at the age of 71; surrounded by close family after a long illness. Kathleen graduated from Brockton High School and worked for many years in the office supply and insurance industries. She was most proud of her successful career as a business analyst based on self-taught computer skills. Those self-taught computer skills frequently saved a lost paper or provided a much needed excel spreadsheet to those around her. After retiring, she gave her time both in tax preparation for the less fortunate and serving as a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed vacations to Turks and Caicos, canoeing on the river, camping and attending concerts, especially with family. Music was a source of joy in her life. It played in the house during Saturday housecleaning, afternoons at the pool, and any weekend friends and family visited. Football games were considered a worthy reason to turn the music off - a sport she enjoyed, but could not watch if the Patriots were losing. Kathleen taught everyone around her what it meant to live life without regard to age often replacing "should do" for "could do". She attended a wide range of concerts including Bon Jovi, Imagine Dragons, and Pink with her daughters. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. As a devoted and involved grandmother, she was very loved by her grandchildren.

Kathleen was slight in stature but larger than life in her presence. One did not leave her house without learning the skill of witty sarcasm. Time with her was filled with laughter and warmth. Her advice was sound, delivered frankly and softened by a hug. Kathleen loved life and had tremendous grit; even after she began facing setbacks she ran a 5k with oxygen, traveled to Montana and Toronto, and most recently dyed her hair purple. Kathleen is survived by her children Tom Sanford,

Rebecca Andrews, and Meghan Savina, as well as grandchildren Thomas and Evan Sanford; and Matthew and David Andrews as well as her beloved dog Sasha. She is preceded in death by her parents Martin and Lillian Stackpole, and her siblings Elizabeth O'Connor, Gerald Stackpole, and Mary Ellen Tilden. Kathleen was also predeceased by her husband Roy K. Savina, the love of her life in 2018. It was a love that transcended adversity and an example of what all love should aspire to be.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, MA: calling hours 1-3 p.m. and service directly following 3-4 p.m.
