Wheatley, Pamela J.
Pamela J. Wheatley, 83, of Newington, beloved wife of 44 years, to the late John Wheatley, died Sunday, July 25, 2021, peacefully after a brief illness. Born in Stains England, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Deene) Purdue. Pam immigrated to Farmington, CT in 1977 and later resided in Newington. Pam was a founding member of the Church of Scientology in England. Her generous sole and willingness to help others was the driving force to her establishing the Connecticut
Chapter of Criminon. Her tireless work has helped countless individuals. Pam organized and ran several charitable golf tournaments that raised money for inner city youth programs. She cherished her grandchildren, loved to garden, knit and have an afternoon cup of tea. Pam is survived by her son Shaun and his wife Julie; two grandsons, John and Paul of Wethersfield; brother-in-law David R. Wheatley and his wife Rosemary of Wales. She will be missed by all her relatives as well as many close, lifelong friends. She will never be forgotten by all the people whose lives she impacted in such a positive way. We thank her for her continuous pursuit of happiness and freedom for all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Monday, August 2nd, at 6:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home, at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Please note that masks are required. Her funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Criminon CT Inc., P. O.
