Zura, Paul G

Paul Gerald Zura, 74, Artist and devoted husband of Susan Eblen of Simsbury, passed peacefully Wednesday July 21, 2021. Paul was born June 19, 1947, to the late John Joseph Zura and Marion Elizabeth Poetzsch in Hartford, CT.

Paul will always be remembered for his fun sense of

humor and love for people. His heart was filled with kindness, care and compassion for all that he knew and encountered. Paul spent time

creating art and created an extensive body of work with a variety of mediums. He was always there for family and friends, most recently his grandson Aiden. His nephews and nieces have long lasting memories of Paul's patience and generosity. He enjoyed fishing, the

beach and listening to music. Often you could find him playing a game of chess, scrabble, which was one of his favorites. He also was a lifetime fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Mens and Womens Basketball.

Paul attended Manchester Community College and University of Connecticut receiving degrees in Fine Arts. Paul's love and passion for art would carry on to his professional life. From watercolors, painting, sculpture, computer game design to 3D-Design his work was constantly evolving. He was employed for many years at Identity Design & Display in Manchester and Arteffects Signs in Bloomfield until his retirement.

Besides his loving and devoted wife Susan, Paul leaves to cherish his memories, three brothers, Donald and his wife Beverly Zura of Stuart, FL, John Zura of West Palm Beach, FL, and Wayne Zura of Montpelier, VT; two sisters, Ann Marie Alden of Lewes, DE, and Jacqueline Connell and her husband William of Sarasota, FL; two grandsons, Aiden Belliveau of Southington, CT and

Nicholas Eblen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one step-son, Dylan Eblen; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life for Paul will be held in the future when it is safe for family and friends to gather.
