Joseph C. Botticello 85, of Vernon, beloved husband of Mary Vendola Botticello died Friday, August 6.

Born in East Hartford the son of the Late Charles Botticello and Ann (Tadeo) Botticello, Joe graduated from EHHS class of 1953. He served in the Army

Reserves from 1956 to 1962. In 1962 he started the J & B Plumbing Co. and operated it until he retired in 2008. He lived in East Hartford most of his life, moving to Vernon in 2003. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Manchester Elks Club and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Italian American Club of East Hartford. He loved to travel and there wasn't a place he wouldn't visit. He loved going to casinos and visited many of them around

the world. His most favorite place was Las Vegas. Joe enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and UConn Women's basketball.

He also leaves his sister-in-law, Josephine Ryder of Vernon; several nieces and nephews of which Uncle Joe was very fond; and extended family and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Joe's three caregivers, Maria, Winter, and Christophe­r for their loving care which enabled Joe to pass away peacefully at home. Joe was a remarkable person and will be missed.

His family will receive friends on Monday, August 16, 2-4 p.m., at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottvil­le Rd., Vernon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 11 a.m., directly at Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Burial will be private.
