DiPietro, Vittorio L.

-

Vittorio (Victor) Lucian DiPietro, 60, of Middletown, husband of Therese (Terri) of 32 years, passed away at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness on August 11, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 18, 1961 in Hartford, CT, the only son of Josephine and the late Aldo DiPietro.

He is the loving father to daughter Anna Maria Brancato and son-in-law Anthony, and sons Nicholas Paul and Dakota James (DJ). The lights of his life were his three grandchildren Aldo, Michael and Dorothea (Thea) Brancato. He spent his days watching his grandchildren, taking pictures and

recording videos of them, as he loved to keep these memories. Vic was a kind and gentle man who always had a smile for everyone. He was happiest watching his grandchildren and proud of the fine adults his own children had grown into. His mother returned to live in CT from FL in December of 2018 and they spent many nights watching Italian TV together. Terri would often overhear them bickering in Italian - never knowing what they were saying but always knowing it was with love. Vic graduated from South Catholic High School in 1980. He briefly worked in security and then at Wiremold, Inc. for over 20 years. He retired at a young age due to a back injury.

He is also survived by his uncle, Lucian DiPietro and wife Joan; brothers-in-law, Joseph, Robert, Guido (Louise), Michael (Neal) Criscuolo and sister-in-law, Anna Conley as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 398, Middletown, CT 06457 or The Eddy Center Shelter, 1 LaBella Circle, Middletown, CT 06457.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 - 6 p.m. on Monday (August 16th) at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (August 17th) at St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington Street, Middletown. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church.
