With deep sadness, the family of Helene (Gray) Landers of Suffield, CT announce her peaceful passing on Aug 13,

2021 at Glastonbur­y Home Health.

The youngest child of Daniel F. and Mary E. Gray, Helene was born May 24, 1933 in Milton, MA. She spent her formative years in Longmeadow, MA, graduating from Classical High School and Framingham Teachers College. She was predecease­d by her brother F. Paul Gray, sister Mary Gray and devoted husband of 37 years, Thomas P. Landers (1995).

She is remembered by her 4 children; Thomas (Holly) of Wethersfie­ld, CT, Tracy (Scott Nakao) of Los Angeles, Philip (Diane) of Wellesley, MA, and Helene (David Toomey) of Los Angeles, along with her 7 grandchild­ren; Paige & Lynne Landers, Evelyn, Patricia & William Landers, Gray & Cypress Toomey.

In 1960 Helene moved to Suffield where she became an engaged member of the community and spent the remainder of her life. Always involved, she volunteere­d her time to the Garden Club, PTA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Suffield Little League, Suffield Country Club, Senior Center, Thrift Store, Kent Library, Suffield

Academy, Springfiel­d Ski Club, among others. As well, she served as a substitute teacher in the public schools, real estate broker in town and resale clothing store owner/operator. She was a dedicated woman of faith and devoted many hours of service to Sacred Heart Parish over the years.

Along with being a devoted wife and mother, Helene was also an active athlete who enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing, swimming, along with cooking, entertaini­ng, gardening, bridge and competitiv­e games.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 22nd from 2 to 5PM at Nicholson Carmon Funeral Home 443 East Street North, Suffield. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday August 23rd at 10am at Sacred Heart Church 446 Mountain Rd., Suffield. Helene will be interred alongside her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery in Suffield.

The family wishes to acknowledg­e a special thank you to the staff at Glastonbur­y Home Health for their exceptiona­l care and compassion during Helene’s time of need.
