Marion Flynn passed away peacefully August 20, 2021 at Manchester Manor in Manchester, CT. She was born June 14,1928 to the late Joseph O. and Corinne (Carlson) Christian in St. Paul Minnesota.

Marion was a proud graduate of Wellesley College maintainin­g relationsh­ips with classmates for years. She began her lifetime career with a Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Illinois. She worked at the University of Connecticu­t, Norwalk Community College and finally the Manchester Community College library.

Settling in Manchester, she was deeply involved in the community. She was a proud and active member of the Friends of Bill W. for over two decades and cared deeply for her church.

Marion was married to John Flynn with whom she spent many wonderful years enjoying travel, bridge, and a passion for golf.

Marion was predecease­d by John Flynn and her youngest sister Claire Battey of Essex, CT. Also, her friend and niece Gretchen Battey Makowicki.

She is survived by her other sister Anne C. Gaucher of Gales Ferry CT., along with many nieces and nephews and their children. She is also survived by her dear friend and travel companion, stepdaught­er Martha Neuman.

Given the times we are now living in, the family wishes for her friends to remember Marion in a safe and personal way so a graveside service, celebratin­g her life will be held on Thursday September 9, 2021 at 11:30

am in the East Cemetery, Manchester CT.

for the care and kindness they surrounded her with. As well, we would like to thank all the friends she cared so much about for making her life so rich
