Santos, Maria (Gaspar)

Maria (Gaspar) Santos, 96, of Wethersfield, beloved wife to the late Joaquim Santos, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Maria was born to the late Miguel Gaspar and Maria Dias Silva on November 2, 1924 in Mira de Aire, Portugal. A hard worker, she found herself working for the Royal Typewriter and Spencer Turbine as an assembly operator. Maria loved cooking and baking for her family, especially Portuguese food. Maria had a passion for crocheting and would make beautiful blankets and doilies for gifts.

Maria will be dearly missed by her children, Linda Loura and her husband, Antonio and David Santos. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Michael Loura

and his wife, Sue, Jeffrey Loura and his husband, Dan Casto, Abraham Santos, Sarah Santos and her husband, Raymond and Leah Santos and her fiancé, Jovanny, her great- grandchildren, Michaela and Amanda Loura and her extended family.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Maria's life will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 10:00AM in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield.
