Health care workers must be vaccinated
I have a hard time believing a nurse or any health care professional who declares, “I love my job, I love taking care of people,” but refuses to get vaccinated against COVID-19 [Sunday CT, Page 1, Aug. 29, “Health workers protest shot mandate”].
I’m vaccinated, but I still don’t want to be cared for at any health care facility where the people providing the care are unvaccinated. It’s an unnecessary risk. An elderly relative who was taken to the hospital by ambulance did not have the choice to be cared for by
vaccinated professionals. There’s no way to know the vaccination status of EMTs, nurses, doctors, lab technicians, etc.
If people don’t have “the freedom” to choose to have vaccinated professionals care for you, then the professionals need to be vaccinated. They cannot potentially put people at risk.
